I purchased a microscope I was so determined to answer this.

It’s a deformed hair follicle. Hair follicles should be cylindrical shaped and sticking straight up when they caritonize in order to grow correctly. When they caritonize in a kinked up position they become affixed to the shaft of the pore and obstruct the oil from reaching the surfacing. Without the proper oil flow to the surface to keep the pore clean acne bacteria starts reproducing and it triggers the inflammatory response resulting in the formation of a pimple. Aestheticians refer to it as a plug or tail, and you need to get it out or the pimple will just fill back up with pus. Not all pimples have a plug but you can usually feel a hard spot with your finger if it does. This type of acne is usually caused by not eating enough foods with Zinc. (or one may have a severely compromised digestive ability resulting in nutritional deficiencies.)
